As you could have realized, the modern cameraman has been able to invent numerous categories of the complex art, and though each type has it's well-deserved merits, landscape photography still, and always will hold a terribly special place in my heart. There is just something so gratifying about getting out there and capturing some of the beauty this superb planet has to give.
Obviously though, like the rest as satisfying in life, it includes its unique challenges and I believe it is one of the trickiest types of photography to hone. This article is going to explore my top five landscape photography tips that I have learned from the numerous years I have spent enjoying the art.
1) Nightfall and Dawn Make for Wonderful Shots: This has much to do with the acute angle of the sun making beautiful shadows and textures. Not to mention some of the stunning colors that paint the views at both these times of the day.
2) Get the Foreground Right: While keeping the whole shot in focus employing a small aperture, simply add a feeling of depth to your photograph by thoroughly positioning an object of interest into the foreground.
3) Search Far and Wide: The best landscape photograph opportunities exist where both civilization and human influence doesn't (with the exception of urban landscape photography). So stand by to journey away from mankind and into the outback to find the best locations for your shots.
4) Employ a Tripod: even though it may slow down the pace at which you're employed and cut back the amount of images you finish up capturing, securing your camera to a tripod will significantly increase the standard of even your best photographs. You can't expect yourself to be totally still during the exposure, particularly at the mercy of outdoors.
5) Try experimenting with Filters: Experiment using various filters; you will find that they can seriously change the look of your shot. As an example: Color correction filters to adjust the color temperature of the photograph.
Hopefully these landscape photography tips are going to help to enhance your photographs and with any good fortune you will get equally as much enjoyment out of landscape photography as I have over the years.
